The Florida Panthers' offseason plans regarding roster changes are still in their nascent stages. According to Panthers GM Bill Zito, it's premature to determine specific offseason moves, whether through free agency or trades.

Zito emphasized that roster building is a complex puzzle driven by player availability, not just team needs. He likened it to wanting specific items but finding none on the market, necessitating alternative strategies. This ongoing challenge requires continuous effort and careful decision-making.

The Panthers will retain their current draft pick if they finish in the top 10 after the lottery. If they do, their 2027 first-round pick will become unprotected and transfer to the Chicago Blackhawks (from the Seth Jones trade), and their 2028 first-round pick will become unprotected and go to the Boston Bruins (from the Brad Marchand trade).
